Frank’s Auto Parts
Managing Director
Frank's Auto Parts was founded by the late Frank Nicastri, and for over 50 years it set the standard in the auto recycling industry. Frank worked industriously to establish the successful Frank's brand and was well known for his commitment to raising awareness and shaping the profile of the Australian Auto Recycling industry as a whole.
Following the acquisition of Frank’s from his father in 1992, Ross spent the next 25 years expanding the organisation to become a leading recognised supplier in the industry.
Key focus areas which accredited the growth were:
· Sales incentive streams and recognising and rewarding high achievers in the business, not only in sales but also in the dismantling and vehicle processing areas plus delivery and logistics.
· Sales and customer service training and implementing service levels and KPIs.
· Targeted advertising and client attraction campaigns.
· Obtained the industry standard, Green Stamp Accreditation.
· Customer Surveys to existing clients with a focus on service experiences.
· Implementation of a new Inventory program which allowed full capability of stock availability and profitability across the full product range.
· Created a customer loyalty program which involved priority service and extended warranty’s to platinum clients.
· At the inception of 13 phone numbers, Ross successfully acquired the 13USED phone number. It was used to aggressively market Frank’s Auto Parts within NSW until 2012 when it was incorporated with Auto Parts Recyclers from Qld, SA and WA. At this point the 13USED Group was created. Ross served as chairman of the group until Frank’s Auto Parts was purchased in 2014.
1997 – 2007
Parts Plus Franchise Group
Founder & Chairman
Following industry discussions and recognising an opportunity, Ross was instrumental in the formation of Parts Plus franchise group in 1997 and was appointed as Chairman.
The business mission was to be the very best supplier of Recycled Auto Parts, that offers customers a “No Fuss” Warranty. The focus was to improve the image and public perception of the auto dismantling industry and to establish and maintain a reputation for quality, guaranteed, recycled parts.
Activities and achievements included:
· Developed a franchise model based on specialised vehicle makes and models within geographical regions and included a 6-month warranty on all used parts.
· Implemented a set of KPI’s in consultation with the members to assist revenue generation, operational business standards and profitability of each individual business.
· Recruited a Marketing Manager to develop an aggressive marketing campaign to acquire new franchisees and actively promote the Parts Plus brand to attract new customers.
· Grew the franchise operation from 10 to 24 franchisees across NSW, VIC and QLD.
March 2014 to Jan 2016
State Operations Manager ACM Parts
As State Operations Manager, Ross was responsible for the merging of Frank’s Auto Parts into the ACM Parts business. This involved rebranding, upgrading, the transition of systems, relocation of the Smithfield storage warehouse. Simultaneously while ensuring client retention and continued growth of the business.
Achievements within the role included:
· Operational staff growth from 25 to 65 staff including hiring, mentoring and training team members and Managers.
· Increased the NSW state revenue by 25% over a period of 12 months.
· Develop a safety and sustainability model – working with consultants to train and maintain a regulated safe working environment.
· Developed a coaching and mentoring culture in the business to assist with on boarding and staff retention.
· Increased production from 65 vehicles processed per month to over 250 vehicles.
January 2016 to May 2018
General Manager – Sales ACM Parts
Following the successful integration and rebranding of Frank’s Auto Parts and the completion of various business projects Ross moved into a Sales GM role to manage the sales teams across 8 sites across three states.
Ross was responsible for developing and implementing a National Sales strategy which included:
· Hiring State Managers in NSW, VIC and QLD.
· Formation and training of local telesales teams and team leaders.
· Recruited and managed a high performance direct and field sales team of 55 across 3 states.
· Achieved 30% year on year growth.
· Recruited National Sales trainer to focus on continued sales and customer service training.
